Taking a Break...

... from blogging for a few weeks.  We just found out we are moving in about a month and there is a ton of work to do first.  I may get on here and post occasionally but then again, maybe not! :-)

Stay tuned and I'll be back with recipes, polymer clay tutorials, and more in a month or so.

Meanwhile, explore and check out my past posts.  You might be surprised what you find!

Enjoy!

Recipe of the Week: Meatball Pie

This is a really simple recipe that I just made up on the spur of the moment last week.

Meatball Pie
1 unbaked pie shell
1- 24oz bag Italian meatballs, thawed
1 can spaghetti sauce
1 can black olives, drained and sliced
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Line the pie shell with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.  Remove from oven and take out the foil.  Dump the meatballs, olives and mushrooms in the pie shell and pour the sauce over the top.  Top with cheese and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until everything is heated through.

Enjoy!

Toys and Dragons

I didn't get a post up yesterday, so today you get a fun vintage toy treasury from the vintage sellers on Etsy and a gorgeous purple and green dragon collection from the artists on Artfire.

This one is a trip down memory lane - for me anyway. I played with every one of these toys at some point in my childhood. I even still have a couple of them. (Although, I admit, I was in high school when I was collecting the Star Trek action figures.)

I asked my family for theme ideas from this one and after getting suggestions like "pizza" and "necklaces" from the kids, Rock suggested "dragons." I added my own favorite colors and came up with this gorgeous collection.

Today's collection is a bunch of awesome stuff from my fellow members of the Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild on Artfire.  This really shows how versatile polymer clay can be.

A Week of Handmade Collections

Since my camera was lost all of last week (found it today BTW), I don't have any photos for a tutorial or recipe or anything so I thought I would share some of the fabulous handmade work and vintage finds from my fellow Artfirers and Etsians.  So click on the links and help me support my fellow artisans.

Today's theme is "Black and White Geometry."  I hated geometry in high school, but let's face it, this is totally different!  I absolutely love the bold angles and strong lines in every one of these pieces from my fellow Etsians.

Paisley Handmade Collection from Artfire

Okay, I still haven't found my camera.  Still looking, though, so there might be a chance you will get that football cane tutorial I mentioned.

Today's theme is "Paisley." I looked it up on Wikipedia and this is what I found:

Paisley or Paisley pattern is a droplet-shaped vegetable motif of Indian and Persian origin. The pattern is sometimes called "Persian pickles" by American traditionalists, especially quiltmakers, or "Welsh pears" in Welsh textiles as far back as 1888.

ETA: This collection was on the front page of Artfire today (Feb 6)!

No tutorial this week! :-(

Sorry folks!  I know I promised a tutorial this week and I've got it all planned out but my camera has disappeared!  (I'm sure it has nothing to do with any of the 6 kids running around the house all day. LOL)  So I'm on the lookout for it and as soon as it turns up I will be doing a football cane in honor of the Superbowl!

Meanwhile, stay tuned!
